Acid Modified Starch
Starch Slurry temperature is adjusted to the desired level. When reaching the reaction temperature, the required of acid is added and the the starch is kept at constant temperature over a certain period in order to obtain the desired viscosity level. The reaction, random cutting, is influenced by the reaction temperature, reaction time and amount of acid. When viscosity spect is met (measured as fluidity) reaction is stopped by pH adjustment. Thinned slurry is washed, dewatered and dried.
