Oxidised Starch
Oxidised Starch can be produced by both NaOCl and H2O2
In H2O2 modification reaction is catalyzed by CuSO4, reaction is random cutting with some carbonyl formation. pH and Temperature are important parameters. H2O2 is added after pH and temperature adjustment accordinng to recipe. After desired viscosity specification is met slurry washed, dewatered and dried.
In NaOCl modification, reaction is random cutting with carbonyl and carboxyl formation. pH and temperature of starch slurry adjusted and NaOCl is added according to recipe. pH and temperature adjustments are made continuously. When viscosity specification is met, reaction stopped, pH of starch slurry adjusted, washed, dewatered and dried.
